Professional Bio

Receiving my Masters of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs, my work focuses on the experiences of Black women in higher education, specifically at Historically White Institutions, and how to support and uplift them in their academic journeys. I aim to lead with empathy, intellect and creativity, understanding the many nuanced difficulties our students from marginalized backgrounds face. I am now beginning my doctoral journey to research how Black women utilize faith in their collegiate journey. I also work at UNC-CH, working with the Kessler Scholars cohort, advising and supporting these limited-income students during their four years in college. I have been working in student affairs since 2021, beginning in residential life. My primary role from 2022 - 2024 was advising a student leadership board of 18 students where I was responsible for leadership development workshops, providing resume-building experiences, and supporting the students' projects and initiatives.
