For the past 31 years, I worked in K-12 education as a special education interventionist, elementary school counselor, and high school counselor. In the past several years, my focus has been more on helping high school students transition to higher education, particularly students with disabilities and students from other populations such as first-generation students. Last semester, I created a first-gen group with high school juniors to give them a jump on the college application process. When this position at OSU came across my desk, I knew I had to apply. Although this is my first job in higher education, I did work as a student employee at OSU in a career services office where I was also a first-gen student. I am excited to work with my new team and the Kessler Collaborative!
