First-Generation College Celebration Day

We hope you will lead or contribute to a campus event/initiative that encourages Kessler Scholars to recognize, reflect on, and celebrate their first-generation identity!

Held annually on November 8th, First-Generation College Celebration Day was created by the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) and FirstGen Forward in 2017 to honor and celebrate the journeys of first-generation college students, alumni, faculty, and staff. On many campuses, this day has now grown to a week-long celebration featuring workshops, speakers, social media campaigns, and other activities to highlight the first-gen community and promote first-gen student success.
